How fun! I know I shouldn't be, but I'm somehow still in shock that I'm actually having BABY showers..wow. That means that baby's arrival is right around the corner.
We also had to take Sophie BACK to the vet this week. Poor thing, she just isn't doing any better. To the vet 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Last week we took her to get groomed, and she looks likes this now:
I think she's feeling A LOT better, although she's not enjoying the FOUR medications we have to administer to her every day. Ugh, there has to be an easier way to give a cat a pill!
On Friday, I had a few people over for a Thirty-One party, which was so nice. I always have to reign myself in on buying too much at these parties - everything is so cute! Mom brought over the table she refinished for me this week, which was a nice treat, because it was on our To-Do list. So...I got to cross something off the list! (and I didn't even have to do the work myself!) How nice! I wish I had Before and After pics of the table. Before it was a light honey pine color, and afterwards, it looks like this:
This is not the best picture, but the table has new hardware and a new mahogany finish. Thanks, Mom! Our new lamps and mirror from Home Goods (love that place!) look great on the table as well.
Finally, last night, Billy and I went out for a rare treat - a date night. Even though we swore when we got married we would do it every week, and I think all couples should, it's hard to actually do it on a weekly basis, especially with Billy's schedule the way it is. Anywho, we had a real rousing date night in downtown Powhatan, which consists of about 4 buildings on a little street. We had a country style buffet dinner while listening to a blue grass band, followed by ice cream cones at the local creamery, which was just so cute, it made me wish we could own a little place like this:
....Quite a difference from our usual date nights in Charlotte, which consisted of pitchers of beer and fried pickles at a local bar, or wine and sushi at a wine bar, but we're adjusting.
We finished up the night with an action packed movie, "Battleship". I think baby girl was just as amused with the action as I was - she was so active the entire movie! Her kicks, punches, and jabs sure added excitement to my viewing experience.
With the start of my 27th week approaching tomorrow, it won't be too long now (a week) before I'm into my third trimester - so hard to believe! We've just gotta hold on for the ride.
Hey Stephy and Bill. Looks like ya'll had lots of fun. So hard to believe that you're Twenty Seven weeks already. Looking forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see you Billy tomorrow. I can't believe it's been Five months. Love to you.
