Today makes six months since Madelyn was born - wow!
At six months, she is able to sit up (sporadically) for up to a minute at a time, although she still mostly tips and wobbles right over! She slurps down 8 ounces at a time, four times a day, and sleeps between 7 pm - 6 am...straight through only if we're lucky.
We feed her solids every night, and will begin feeding her breakfast every morning this week. So far, she enjoys her oatmeal, peas, and green beans. She is still working on getting more in her mouth than on her face.
We swear she will be a singer, because she loves to sing to herself. We've even heard her stop mid-cry to sing a note or two. She may or may not get this from her Mama's goofy songs.
At her 6 month appointment yesterday, Madelyn's weighed in at 14 pounds, 13 ounces (27% percentile), her height was in the 32% at 25 1/4 inches long, and that head of hers measured in at a whopping 17 inches around - 72nd percentile! What can I say...she's a smart cookie! Let's just hope her body grows into that head eventually!
The doctor warned us that the next few months would be a period of rapid growth and changes - as if the last six haven't been! I know she's going to keep surprising us each day, but as long as we can keep our sense of humor and keep laughing, with her and at her, we're sure to enjoy the ride!
