If you know me, you know that I CANNOT commit to most decisions - I am so wishy-washy, and I get on my own nerves sometimes! This character trait can be especially difficult when making big decisions in life, but I notice it most when I'm planning events or designs (ie: planning our wedding/designing the paint colors for our house, etc.). And NOW...designing the nursery - ahhh!
You may think that I should already have an idea of what I want since I am five months along. The truth is, I tried not to think too much either way because I didn't know the gender, and I didn't want to confuse myself. If you had talked to me a few years ago, I would have told you that I was definitely having a yellow nursery - boy or girl. A few months ago I stated that I wanted the nursery to be neutral, with pops of color - even if I was having a girl (which goes against my "girly-girly" personality.)
With news last week that we were in fact having a girl, I began scouring images online. Now, I'm finding it difficult to stick by my "not too girly" vision of a neutral nursery that I once held. If I'm having a baby girl, I want to embrace it and make it feminine, alright! So, I've started collecting images of nurseries I love. The problem is, I have so many ideas and so many things I want to do. It will be a task for me to pair it down to something that is manageable and affordable.
With Mom and Julie taking off tomorrow to help me with nursery decorating (yay!), I feel that I must make up my mind as to what I want - and fast! I need their help to pick out paint colors, something I am notoriously bad at. (Paired with my inability to make decisions - it's a disaster waiting to happen!) So, I am 98% certain that tomorrow I will enlist their help in choosing a feminine, soft, beautiful, light, breezy, (not too limey-not too minty) shade of green that will pair well with .... you guessed it....PINK!
Take a look at some of the inspiration pictures I've included below. If you have any suggestions for beautiful green colors - let me know! :)
I know what you're thinking - seriously, Steph!? - but what fun is it to have a baby girl if you can't have over the top stuff like a chandelier!? |
I'm loving the paisley fabrics |
This will be a super fun DIY project for the summertime |
Oh Stephy, you're so good with decorations. I love the pinks and greens together. It matches your Wedding colors, and that was beautiful. Wish that I could be there to help. I Love you dearly!
